About Arturo E. Beéche

The European Royal History Journal is the original creation of Arturo E. Beéche, who is also the publisher and editor of Eurohistory.

Mr. Beéche, a native of Costa Rica, graduated with History and Political Science degrees from San Diego State University (SDSU). While at SDSU, he distinguished himself with his insightful research papers and participation in historical seminars and discussion groups. In 1991, he received the prestigious Andrew Bell Appleby Scholarship for Outstanding Research in History. One year later, his Seniors' Honor Thesis was chosen as the best history thesis written at SDSU in 1992.

He opened Eurohistory in 1997 to share with a wider audience his love of European royal history. Since then, the company has branched out into publishing a magazine and books, as well as organizing yearly conferences and castle-hopping tours to Europe.

Since 2003, under Mr. Beéche’s guidance, Eurohistory has published over thirty books, as well as more than 125 issues of Eurohistory, the magazine he founded in September 1997.

Since opening Eurohistory, Mr. Beéche has served as a consultant for many television, film, periodical works, and reports on European royal history. He has lectured at various prestigious institutions, among them the Smithsonian in Washington, DC. For over fifteen years he has been an instructor of Social Studies, Government, Economics, and Political Science.

Mr. Beéche lives in East Richmond Heights, CA with his husband David Higdon and their troop of four Scottish terriers. He also enjoys spending as much time as possible with his grandson Ezra.
